The Nantucket Atheneum, Spoken Word Nantucket, and Mitchell’s Book Corner join together to co-sponsor a weekly poetry-writing workshop for teens and adults facilitated by poet and educator Greg Orr on July 10,17.24 and 31.
Bring one or two poems to share with the group, who will discuss them and offer a constructive critique.Greg Orr is the author of numerous collections of poetry, a memoir, and three books of essays. He is considered by many to be a master of short, lyric freeverse. In addition, he teaches at the University of Virginia, where he foundedthe MFA Program in Writing in 1975.On Monday, July 30 all workshop participants will be invited to read at a poetry reading in the Nantucket Atheneum Great Hall at 7 pm. Greg Orr will be the featured poet.
