Handmade Lokta Paper Garlands

The garland features Lokta papers, cut in the shape of Llamas and stitched together to finish the garland. All elements of the garland are made by hand by a women's cooperative in Nepal. The women cut and assemble each element of the garlands body and sews them together into an approximately 6 foot long garland. The Lokta paper is made using bark of the Daphne plant that is harvested while the plant remains alive. Then the bark is formed into sheets and hand screen printed.
